CORONAVIRUS IN CT: 382 new cases bring total past 40K

HARTFORD (1010 WINS) – Gov. Ned Lamont said Saturday that Connecticut’s coronavirus cases had surpassed 40,000 as the state reported hundreds more positive test results and dozens more deaths.

Lamont said there were 382 new cases of COVID-19 reported since Friday.

The state’s total number of cases is now 40,022.

The governor said another 38 people had died, bringing the state’s death toll to 3,675.

Lamont said 724 patients are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, a decrease of 16 since Friday.

Fairfield County continues to have the most reported cases and deaths at 14,989 and 1,208, respectively.

Hartford County has reported the second-largest number of deaths at 1,169. It has reported 9,545 cases.

New Haven County has the second-largest number of cases at 10,847. It has reported 897 deaths.
