Five NYC Questions for Def Leppard Drummer Rick Allen

March 25, 2019

Earlier this year, Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen dropped by Shannon in the Morning to discuss the band's upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame -- the ceremony for which happens on March 29th right here in the city at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

After the interview, Rick sat for five quick questions that were all about the city that never sleeps -- just to see what he and his bandmates like to do when they're in town.

Right off the bat, we got into his favorite spot for a bite to eat. Without hesitation, Rick remembers the area in the city where all of the fantastic Indian restaurants coagulate (1st ave. & 6th) and one in particular, Panna II, where you compete with twinkle lights when you sit down to eat!.

When Rick needs to pick up some gear, he says he's never been disappointed with Sam Ash or Guitar Center because he knows they will always have what he needs.

Surprisingly, Rick says he hasn't purchased any music in the city since the second (or third?) wave of vinyl made a comeback, so if you have any suggestions for Rick, you know where to hit him up!

Lastly, we had no idea Rick was married to an Italian girl from Queens! What a catch! You know that family is keeping him well fed whenever he visits the in-laws!

The 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony featuring this year's class of The Cure, Def Leppard, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music and The Zombies takes place on Friday, March 29th at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

Those not in attendance can watch the ceremony on Saturday, April 27th on HBO. The broadcast will then be available on-demand to HBO Now and HBO Go subscribers.
