June 12, 2020

Nick Feldman, founding member of the great '80s British new wave band Wang Chung checked in on the star phone with Scott Shannon and Patty Steele today to reminisce about the beginnings of the band, and to look ahead to the special Back To The Basement all-'80s COVID-19 relief concert happening this weekend on Facebook LIVE

The band has also recently reinvented its worldwide smash for the coronavirus era and brought Nu Shooz singer Valerie Day along for the ride. LISTEN HERE.

“It just wouldn’t go away,” Nick says about Wang Chung’s music, with their work featured in huge TV shows like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, South Park, Glee, This is Us, SNL and The Goldbergs. Throughout their 35-year career, Wang Chung have released more than a good time -- they've got a total of six albums and two Greatest Hits compilations with five Top 40 hits under the belt. After parting ways in 2016 and adding Cutting Crew vocalist Gareth Moulton to the mix, Nick reunited with original bandmate Jack Hues about 10 years ago and they continue to tour today. "It's amazing, a couple of old guys like us,” Nick says, almost surprised by their touring power and stamina.

This Saturday, Wang Chung will be part of Back to the Basement, an all 80s virtual concert happening at 2PS ET on Facebook LIVE in support of doctors, nurses, first responders and healthcare workers. The show will re-air on Facebook live at 7PM ET and also includes A Flock Of Seagulls, Naked Eyes, Animotion, Cutting Crew, Nu Shooz, The Vapors, Tiffany, Downtown Julie Brown and more from the golden age of MTV.
