Peter Green, one of the co-founders of legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac, has died. He was 73.

Lawyers for the musician confirmed the news, according to BBC.

“It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Green announce his death this weekend, peacefully in his sleep. A further statement will be provided in the coming days,” read the statement from Swan Turton law firm.

Green formed Fleetwood Mac with drummer Mick Fleetwood in 1967. He left the band in 1970 amid struggles with mental health, the outlet noted. He was later diagnosed with schizophrenia.

In 1998, Green was one of the eight members of the group, alongside Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie, Christine McVie, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer, to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
