“Brooklyn’s Own” Joe Causi recently took his own Jamaica Escape to the beautiful Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios. It’s a responsibility he takes seriously, reviewing resorts located in tropical places before seeing if they are worth sending you on your way.
IT’S A TOUGH JOB BUT SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT.

Dunn’s River Falls
Dunn’s River Falls is a beautiful hike that begins on the beach and makes its way up an 180-foot multi-step cascade that receives thousands of visitors per year. The hour and a half climb is full of vegetation, wading pools, and gnarly spiders (that will not kill you). There are plenty of stops along the way for photo ops to take the perfect selfie.
Miss T’s Kitchen
Miss T’s Kitchen is home to authentic Jamaican country cooking. Some of the delicious dishes include ox tail, jerk and fried chicken, banana fritters, and much more.
It’s technically called Mystic Mountain Rainforest Adventures in Ocho Rios. It spans 700 feet from shore to peak and stretches over 100 acres. You can take a trip on the Sky Explorer, test out your nerves on the bobsled ride, lose your mind on the canopy zip-line, and then wash it all off on the unique mystic water slide.
An agricultural property built in the early 18th century now operated by Dolphin Cove. You can be taught how to cook authentic Jamaican cuisine just like the locals. After you’ve had your fill, you can go on horse/camel back to enjoy the sites and view.
Who’s in charge?!?!
Joe spoke with the director of entertainment, O’Shane Holmes, general manager Clifton Reader, and director of the Jamaica Tourist Board, Janice Allen Regina.
