The movie ARRIVAL is splitting audiences with a critic on Roger Ebert’s website saying it’s “ambitious, accomplished filmmaking” while our very own Scott Shannon said it was “very convoluted.”

Big Show celebrity reporter Brad Blanks was at the Gotham Awards in downtown Manhattan wearing his only suit. Upon spotting Amy Adams, the star of the film, he asked her for a quick chat.

“She was initially startled by my first question,” says Brad. “So, I asked her if she is fine with the audience being split between ‘being lost’ and ‘loving’ the movie.” After gathering her composure quickly she answered, “you never know how it is received… the one’s that were lost should go back and see it again… I like that, I like that it’s not obvious to everybody on the first viewing.”

Sensing that she was enjoying the chat, Brad asked Amy if it means that his friends who were lost are less smart than the one’s who loved it. She answered with a laugh, “Yes!” and went on to quickly say, “no, I have people in my own family who say that it was interesting — and others who say they loved it.”
