The ’60s

It would be this week in 1963, The Ronettes first entered the US singles chart with “Be My Baby”. It would be the girl group’s only top 10 hit.

Lead singer, Veronica Bennett who later became Ronnie Spector, took producer and ex-husband Phil Spector to court in the late 1990s for unpaid royalties.

Can you imagine?!? It happened this week in 1977, when three people were arrested in Memphis, TN after trying to steal Elvis Presley‘s body.

As a result, his remains would be later moved to Graceland.

Way too creepy…

Talk about luck and hitting it big… It would be this week in 1984, after a 25-year career, Tina Turner had her first solo number one single in the U.S. with “What’s Love Got To Do With It”.

Now get this… the song was originally written for Cliff Richard, but he rejected it.

It was then offered to Donna Summer, who said she sat with it for a couple of years but never recorded it — and then it went to Tina… amazing!

He had earlier told his agent that he planned to remain in his home despite the order to evacuate.

Fats, when you gotta go, you gotta go!
