“I am praying for you France,” tweeted Lady Gaga in reaction to a terror attack in Nice that killed 84 people and injured more than 100. “When u open your eyes and see chaos, we will close our eyes and see harmony. We are with you.”

Last night (July 14) during a celebration in Nice, France to celebrate Bastille Day, a truck drove through a crowd with the intent to kill as many people as possible. The driver of the truck was later shot dead by police. Police say the incident is being treated as a terror attack, reports the BBC.

Since the attacks, #prayforNice has trended on Twitter and many artists have expressed grief and disbelief.

“Deepest sympathies to our friends in Nice,” wrote Queen guitarist Brian May. “What happened to our world?”

Disclosure, who had just left the city wrote, “Thoughts with everyone affected by the horrific scenes in Nice, France. We were just there this morning.. Can’t believe it!”
