For any person who thinks country music doesn’t have a place in New York City, look no further than Garth Brooks to silence the debate. Brooks is one of the best-selling artists in US history with a tally of more than 160 million records.

Brooks hasn’t played in New York in 20 years and, despite all of his success, has some butterflies when he thinks of returning to town.

“I’m nervous. I’m excited. I’m scared,” says Brooks about his upcoming show at Yankee Stadium on July 9th.

Listen to Scott Shannon’s full interview with Garth Brooks below.

Tickets for Garth Brooks’ Yankee Stadium show on July 9th go on sale tomorrow (5/20) through Ticketmaster.
