“Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to get through this thing called life.”

Those memorable words began Prince‘s magnum opus, Purple Rain, on the opening track “Let’s Go Crazy.” Those sentiments, at their core, could easily be interchanged with the work of The Beatles, namely Paul McCartney.

With his One on One tour underway, McCartney was in the Purple One’s hometown of Minneapolis. The latest stretch of Macca’s live music career has been memorable so far, seeing the former Beatle perform songs that haven’t been played on stage in decades. Last night’s show included an extra surprise during his encore as McCartney delivered a shortened cover of “Let’s Go Crazy” with Prince’s iconic symbol projected behind him on stage.
