Paul Simon is streaming the second single that will be featured on his thirteenth solo studio album, Stranger to Stranger, on June 3rd. The single — titled “Cool Papa Bell” — comes several weeks after releasing “Wristband.”
Simon is utilizing a different approach to his new album, his first since releasing So Beautiful or So What in 2011.
“Sound is the theme of this album as much as it’s about the subjects of the individual songs,” says Simon. “If people get that, I’ll be pleased. The right song at the right time can live for generations. A beautiful sound, well that’s forever.”
Simon employed the help of EDM artist Clap! Clap! on Stranger to Stranger, saying he “makes music sound new and old at the same time,” aligning with his approach to “getting you to actually hear something in a new way… about making music that sounds old and new at the same time — music with a sense of mystery.”

Simon embarks on a tour that begins at the end of April with his performance at Jazz Fest and concludes on June 30th when he comes to Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in Queens.
