"We really should have just titled all of these albums."

The most egregious snub still plaguing the music landscape is Chicago‘s exclusion from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And when you’re reminded that the band has sold over 100 million records — 18 platinum and eight multi-platinum — and released 21 top-ten singles, the outrage becomes almost too much to bear.

With so much success, it’s hard to imagine members having any regrets (maybe they could have convinced Peter Cetera to stick around). But founding member, keyboardist, and vocalist Robert Lamm can think of one regret the band as a whole has.

“Now I’m thinking that we made a mistake in the beginning in numbering these albums because nobody can keep it straight,” says Lamm of the band’s epic discography, which includes 36 albums: studio, live, and compilation combined. “We really should have just titled all of these albums.”

Chicago is about to release their 36th album, Chicago XXXVI: Now. Titled after the lead single, it will be released on July 4, 2014. They will be joined by REO Speedwagon for shows at PNC on August 16th and Jones Beach on August 17th.
