Cattle Dog Becomes Best Friends With A Disabled Kitten

A kitten, Ralphee, with a neurological condition called feline cerebellar hypoplasia, has been befriended by Max, a cattle dog who has taken to looking after the disabled kitten.

Affectionately known as “wobbly cat,” Ralphee’s condition impairs her fine motor skills and coordination, caused by an underdeveloped cerebellum.

Ralphee and Max met after the kitten was rescued from a horse stall and the two have become inseparable. Wakaleo Animal Channel, who posted the video, describes Ralphee as “growing more mischievous by the day and loves to see what Max is doing as well. She will often get excited when he is nearby and leap in the air before playfully charging in his direction.”

Because CH is non-progressive and non-contagious, cats with the condition can — barring any additional health issues — have the same life expectancy as cats without CH. In fact, many owners says their cats with CH become more capable as time passes.
