Paul McCartney has been pulling out all the stops to help promote his latest album New, ready for release in the US on October 15th. Macca has done the late night circuit, posted acoustic sets of his new music and even participated in a Twitter Q&A. He even stopped by a Queen’s high school to perform a 13-song set filled with Beatles classics sprinkled with a few fresh tracks. He even took part in a quick Q&A.

McCartney was back at it today when he announced a surprise performance in Times Square today, making the announcement on Twitter this afternoon.

People flocked to 46th and Broadway for the performance, where a truck opened up into a stage and Sir Paul arrived in a NYC yellow cab, all of which were captured on Instagram.
