There’s nothing like a little brotherly love, but sometimes there is no love lost between family members. That is certainly the case when egos, money and fame get in between brothers in the music business.

While we celebrate Sibling Rivalries in the CBS-FM Hall of Fame, we can’t help but look back at some of the biggest bands who were notorious for fighting.

John and Tom Fogerty fought consistently for years. John took control of CCR. Tom quit several times. The band has never truly reunited and we are now stuck with Creedence Clearwater Revisited.

The Bee Gees are one of the most successful groups in history, but all that time together might have caused a bit of Saturday Night Fever, leading to constant fighting. When discussing fellow British band Oasis and the famous feud of the Gallagher brothers, Robin Gibb said, “They’re just copying us.”

The Everly Brothers

For over 15 years, the Everly Brothers saw huge success with hits like “Bye Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susie” and “All I Have to Do Is Dream.” But bitterness between the two caused a break, leading them not to speak to each other for nearly a decade… except at their father’s funeral.

The Beach Boys

Battling brothers would be enough for any band, but The Beach Boys added a cousin into the mix; a dysfunctional family at its finest! The Beach Boys reunited in 2012 for their 50th Anniversary, but that came to an abrupt end with fingers being pointed in every direction.

The Kinks

For over 30 years, brothers Ray and Dave Davies were the only consistant members of The Kinks. There is a possibility only the two were able to stand each other’s presence for an extended period of time. But that wouldn’t last, of course.

Dave Davies has said there will never be a Kinks reunion and thinks his brother is an a*****e.

He also had this to say about his brother Ray:

“I think Ray has been happy for only three years in his life. And those were the three years before I was born.”
