Founding Doors guitarist Robby Krieger will be making a stop in New York City this Summer during a brief tour with his solo band, Robby Krieger’s Jam Kitchen. The band will perform at The Cutting Room on East 32nd on August 20th. Jam Kitchen last played New York City in December 2012 with a pair of shows at The Iridium.

Robby Krieger’s Jam Kitchen consists of Krieger, bassist Arthur Barrow, keyboardist Tommy Mars, ex-War saxophonist Larry Klimas and jazz drummer Tom Brechtlein. Both Barrow and Mars performed and recorded with the late Frank Zappa during the 1970s and ’80s. Barrow also appeared on The Doors ninth and final studio album — An American Prayer in 1978 — providing synthesizer programming on “The Movie.”

Tickets for Jam Kitchen’s show are currently available for $30 ($35 day of show) at There is also a $20 food/drink minimum, so skip lunch on August 20th.

The tour kicks off at the famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on August 9th, making stops in Chicago and Boston before finishing up in Orlando on the first of September.
