Just last week, Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals was part of the 2012 induction ceremony for the Long Island Music Hall of Fame, performing as part of a tribute to singer Ellie Greenwich.

While in studio with WCBS-FM’s Dan Taylor prior to the event, Felix shared his anticipation about the ceremony celebrating local NYC musicians like himself, and also some warnings about the information you find about your favorite artists on the Internet.

Felix is also extremely excited to be a part of another milestone event close to his heart; the reunion of his band (and the Late Show with David Letterman’s Paul Shaffer’s all-time favorite band) The Rascals which is being curated and funded via donations set up by his pal Steven Van Zandt of the E Street Band (also seen in The Sopranos, Lilyhammer).

“Steve’s concept for this is kind of unique. I’ve never seen or heard of a show like this,” Cavaliere told WCBS-FM. “As a matter of fact, his words to me were ‘boy when you see this, you’re gonna wish you could see this!'” he continued.

The concert promises to be a major production featuring lighting by famed production designer Mark Brickman, plus videos, multimedia and even actors who bear a striking resemblance to The Rascals boys when they were just young ‘uns, telling the band’s storied past.

This will be The Rascals’ first public performance in four decades and will take place at Port Chester, New York’s newly re-opened Capitol Theatre.

The first three shows of The Rascals: Once Upon A Dream (December 13, 14 and 15) have all sold out but three more (December 20, 21 and 22) have just gone on sale. The crowd-funding comes via a Kickstarter campaign which ends Wednesday, and is 90% towards the goal of $100,000.
