Say it isn’t so! George Lucas has shocked the world in a New York Times profile, saying he is retiring from his big blockbusters like Star Wars!

“I’m moving away from the business,” he said, “from the company, from all this kind of stuff.” By “stuff,” he means epic movies like Star Wars and he hopes to focus on more “art house-type films.”

Before he moves on from the blockbusters, still has Red Tails coming out Friday, which covers World War II and the heroic efforts of the Tuskegee Airmen along with a fifth Indiana Jones movie.

This also means no more Star Wars films in any way after the 3D re-releases, no re-cuts or anything that involves his greatest achievement.
