[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neil Diamond[/lastfm] will be a solitary man no more!

According to Rolling Stone, NLD made the announcement yesterday via Twitter, because that’s how celebs do things in this high tech, social media savvy world. Hopefully all his ol’ fencing buddies from Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn are following Neil on Twitter, or else they might have missed out on the news.

Neil was first married in 1963 to his high school sweetheart, Jayne “Posey” Posner. They divorced in 1969, and Neil made the leap for a second time in December of that year to Marcia Murphey, a production assistant. Their union ended in divorce in 1995.

Hopefully the third time is a charm, as Diamond announced his engagement to Katie McNeil yesterday while in Los Angeles.

The 70-year-old Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Famer posted a photo of the bride-to-be to Twitter shortly after.

There’s no news as to when these two love birds will tie the knot, but we’re sure the 282K + followers he has on Twitter will be the first to know.

Now, let’s take a ride across the moon… you and me.

Please play “forever young” by Bob Dylan on 9/11. And dedicate it to all the children who died on the planes and the ones who lost their parents on that day and in the 1993 bombing at the WTC.
